ABOUT ME
WHO AM I?
My name is Courtney Jones and at the (hopefully still young) age of 30 I have decided to do my Masters in Graphic Design at Falmouth Uni. I have degrees in History of Art and Philosophy, and Architecture. After graduating from Architecture I decided to pursue Graphic Design and moved down to the big smoke. I started out as a fundraising assistant and worked my way up over the last five years. I currently work for a charity called Catch22 as the Design and Marketing Manager. I love what I do but I believe we are the made up of all of our experiences not just our jobs. As well as design I love anything space travel, earth travel, weird animal friendships, spicy food, Belle and Sebastian, E.T and Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

WHERE AM I?

I currently live in Wandsworth South West London with my partner Mat and (in lieu of a real pet) our stuffed dog doorstop named Jupiter. After moving to England from Germany when I was 9 years old I spent the next 10 years in a sleepy village in Northumberland so by the time I graduated I was ready for a move somewhere with more than one pub. I love the city and desperately miss the hustle and bustle of the pre pandemic London.

WHAT DO I DO?

I am a Graphic Designer. As a designer you have the opportunity to affect people’s lives; to make them easier, more informed and more beautiful. Graphic Design is everywhere, from the news app you scroll through first thing in the morning, to the café where you buy coffee, to the train station signage to make sure you get to work; good design is vital, and I love creating it.

WHY DESIGN?

I do it because I am curious about everything. I think graphic design is about looking outwards, about looking at the world around you and finding ways to make it a better place.
